New imprint Cosmic Boogie sets off its journey into slow motion space disco with two tasteful slices of interplanetary funk. First under the blade are The Undisputed Truth who are carefully dissected and reworked into the Cosmic Boogie 9000 Edit of ‘Space Machine’ which positively drips in atomic funk, futuristic boogie and space rock. Meanwhile over on the flip, the low slung groove and spaced out gospel soul of Charles Jackson’s ‘Ooh Child’ is extended to the max with the Cosmic Boogie Extend Yourself Edit. Respectfully edited, wonderfully re-mastered and cut loud at 45 RPM for vinyl lovers, Cosmic Boogie is all about exploring a different meaning of ‘cosmic’. Long live the boogie!
The last mix before launch day – Paul Outlar runs the “where would Liverpool be without it” dance listing website Outlar, and is also semi resident at virtually every night in the city. Any that have a sound music policy anyway…
This week sees the launch of the first ever Cosmic Boogie edit 12″, of which I am of course really excited about. I thought I would try and do something different for the launch other than just bang a post up here with all the blurb about the track and links to buy it.
If you haven’t already heard the excellent Out In The Sticks edits, then you really need to go and do that. Most people would question what you could do to a track like Forget Me Not (apart from Will Smith), but listen, and you shall see.
