Today, I upgraded my Flickr account to be able to see all the sets of photos that have been taken over the last couple of years, and so I can upload some others…and some (very handsome) press shots and flyers and such.

Continue Reading...This is the first, hopefully, of what should be a step into the world of remixing. Over the next few months I have 4 or 5 to have a go at, as well as carrying on the edits, so there should be enough Cosmic Boogie stuff ticking over.
Continue Reading...Greg Wilson, friend and contributor if this very blog, has now launched his own piece of the web to go alongside the excellent electrofunkroots website. I cant do it any better justice than Greg can, so I hand you over to him for the lowdown.
Continue Reading...Yesterday I upgraded my Soundcloud account to give me enough “minutes” (surely the stupidest way ever to manage storage space), and I created a set that will just have all the decent Cosmic Boogie mixes that have been created over the last couple of years.
Continue Reading...I have decided to try out some of the other DJ systems besides Serato, just to see what’s what – and get a feel for what I like more. When I bought Serato a few years ago, I was told at the time that Traktor Pro was unstable and not the one to go for. Now, however, it seems things have changed. I bought myself a USB soundcard and a copy of the Traktor Pro software, and am going to give it a go and see what it gives me over Serato

I had been using plug-ins to try and create the feed for me but they were basically generating bollocks, so I decided to do it by hand. One week later – boom – in we go. The iTunes feed will basically cherry pick out the best mixes from the site and what not and add them in, and as each new mix is released it will automatically add to iTunes within 24 hours or so. At the moment there are only a handful of mixes, but I hope to add to this over the coming days. I’m hopeful that its a way to get more people to hear the great mixes we have on here from guests around the country, and of course the Greg Wilson Renaissance mixes. Feel free to help spread the word.
Continue Reading...in the early hours of Saturday morning at the weekend just gone, Greg Wilson’s first ever Essential Mix was broadcasted out across the nation through BBC Radio 1. The mix has gone down an absolute storm, with rave reviews from all who have heard it, including me (of course). It has everything you could want from 2 hours of music.
Continue Reading...Yes, its been a ghost town around here. Numerous reasons; christmas, a new job, and the acquisition of a macbook which I had to learn how to use (and am typing this very post on right now). However, no longer will you be starved of a cosmic boogie fix – things are gearing back up now. So first of all I will say happy new year to everyone, I trust it all went as well as could be expected, and that 2009 goes just as swimmingly.
Continue Reading...So after a few mates of mine badgered me into doing it, I have created a soundcloud account for Cosmic Boogie. This means you can send me edits, mixes, pictures, deathstar blueprints and chemical recipes whenever you want to, and of course, I will post the mixes up on it from the site (when I get round to it).
Continue Reading...The blog has now been running since around Christmas time (early December if I remember rightly) and earlier this month we broke the 10000 unique visitors mark. Also, weve had around 13000 mix downloads or listens in this time, thats…erm…around 1200 a month or so. This might be nothing to some of the more established sites around, but to us it means a great deal. So thank you because everyone who reads this, listens to the music, and emails or comments is adding to the site making it all worthwhile to carry on. Which we assure you we will. Yes.
Continue Reading...We love Manchester because of its vibrant music scene, cheeky manc types, and all round good naturedness. With that in mind, we thought it would be a good idea to bring the two cities together by forming an alliance (of sorts) with our friends over at Shoot Speed Social.
