With his highly-anticipated show coming up this Friday at Sydney’s Space Nightclub, alongside Richard Durand, we caught up with the music veteran to talk all things Trance.
Constantly releasing heavy-weight productions and with a relentless drive to give the global crowd that energetic push and mesmerise them with a breathtaking intensity, has made Mark Sherry establish himself as a quality producer, DJ and label owner.
With over two decades in the scene, the Tech-Trance pioneer says Trance is in a good place right now.
“Every country has its ups and downs with it, peaks and troughs, but I’d say overall yes it’s in a good place globally. There are lots of amazing events all over the world at the moment, so as long as each country can sustain things then it’s going to be around for a long long time!” Mark Sherry told Trance Project in a recent interview.
Bring your best game, because it’ll all go down in Sydney this Friday as Mark Sherry hits the decks with his trademark Tech-Trance style, and he’ll be dropping new music from his upcoming album set to be released early 2019.

We’re thrilled to have you back in Sydney for your show with Richard Durand, what do you love most about Australia?
I’d say that one of the things I love most about Oz is the energy you get from the Ozzy crowd! I’ve been coming here since 2001 and I can honestly say that I’ve never had a bad gig here. Australians are like the Scottish, we love a good time and we’re not afraid to show it haha.
What do you hope your fans get out of your much-anticipated set in Sydney? Will we be hearing any new music?
Well I have my first ever artist album coming up for release early 2019 so I’ll be road-testing some brand spanking new tracks from the album, so I’m very excited about that! I’ve been working on it since the end of last year so it’s going to be great seeing the reaction the new music gets from you all!
What does Trance mean to you?
It’s been my life since the mid ’90s so it really means everything to me. I’ve stuck with it for almost 25 years so you could say that I like it quite a lot haha.
Do you think Trance music is in a good place right now?
Every country has its ups and downs with it, peaks and troughs, but I’d say overall yes it’s in a good place globally. There are lots of amazing events all over the world at the moment, so as long as each country can sustain things then it’s going to be around for a long long time!
Do you have any final words for all your die-hard Aussie fans?
Just want to say that I absolutely love coming here and I’m very excited about seeing all of my friends in Sydney and Melbourne this weekend, Oz holds a very special place in my heart, and even though I’m sitting on the plane just now with a severe case of red-eye after 20 hours of flying, the travelling is always worth it to come and see you all on the dance floor!
